Good gym etiquette makes sure everyone can train cleanly, respectfully and efficiently. It's not about complicated rules — it's about order, gym hygiene and consideration.

Putting the dumbbells back, wiping off sweat, wearing clean shoes and using your gym towel properly: it's usually the small things that make the difference for everyone in the gym.

What makes good gym etiquette?

  • Put dumbbells, weights and accessories back
  • Wipe sweat off benches, handles and mats
  • Only train in clean workout shoes
  • Lower weights under control
  • Show up in fresh clothes and with a clean gym towel
  • Use your gym towel — and never put it down on the floor
  • Free up the gym equipment between sets
  • Skip unsolicited training advice

In short: Good gym etiquette means leaving your training area clean and tidy and being considerate towards everyone training after you.
